Engagement Season is Here! 2011 is all about DIY & Less Traditional Receptions!01-Jun-2011There is a season for stone crabs and tourism in South Florida, but did you know we have a season for engagements? It’s true, the months of October through January are big business when it comes to the men dropping to one knee and showing their ladies the ring. Of course, after the ring is placed firmly on the finger, it’s time to plan the big event. Whether your event is going to be a quiet luncheon for 40 or a massive party for 240, it’s all about the planning. South Florida, one of the biggest hubs for destination weddings, marches to the beat of its own drummer when it comes to nuptials, but it seems like our ideas and patterns will finally be going main stream in 2011 and the rest of the country will jump on our colorful bandwagon. The short-length dresses and lounge style seating and non-conventional tables are just a few of the other trends making their mark on 2011. Color, Color everywhere! 2011 looks like it’s going to break from the traditional and boring. Simply put, we won’t be hearing many wedding bands cover Billy Idols “White Wedding” next year. Colors like navy, coral, celadon, pink, fucia and apple green are all the rage for 2011 brides. These colors will not only add excitement to the event on a whole, but also add conversation when guests arrive and see things in out of the ordinary shades. Another option; why choose more than one color? Many brides are bringing back the idea of the monochrome wedding in an alternative way by choosing one color and go with several different shades. |
